Have you ever heard the saying "I LOVE my computer...my friends live inside it!" --sad connotation on our times but it's true. I work from home, and it seems I live in this little nook...literally 18 hours a day! So we painted it a super bright cheerful color. And yes.......this is the "dining room"! Who needs one?
The fan on the floor keeps my poor overworked computer nice and cool. *laughing* And since you might be wondering.......those sticky notes are my "to do" list, love doing it this way, I can rip them down and throw them away when done and it feels so good!
Tangie - come by the store and pick up your gift basket.
We look forward to meeting you!

I love this corner because of all my favorite things... Velvet chair, gorgeous Marge Carson table, floral, photo of me and my husband on our wedding day...etc - although this is my "formal" living room, it's comfy and feels like home.

My husband and I bought a beautiful 2500 sq ft home when we got married three and a half years ago, right at the height of the market. Since we had another one being built, this house was to be purely for investment purposes and we planned to flip it within a few months and then move into our bigger, newer home. Well, the market crashed and we frantically put both houses on the market and the new one sold immediately, and we drained our savings paying the high mortgage of our "investment" house over the next year and a half until it sold. So, we downsized and lived in an 1800 sq ft house and tried to get back on our feet. After doing that for one year, we realized we needed to make further changes in order to stay afloat and keep our new struggling business alive, so in August of 2007, we downsized again.
This time our home is a little over 1200 sq ft. And you know what? Even though it's tiny and we don't have room for everything (a friend is piano-sitting for us, for example) we have found that we are just as happy, maybe even more so. In trying times, it truly is more important to focus on our blessings--health, family and good friends.
I do have, in this cozy little space, a nook that brings a smile to my face on a daily basis. My nook comprises half of my living room, and I love it for its mirrored light. And the best part is, it came together with all the little beauties I already had--I "made do," but didn't have to "go without!"
Thanks for reading. And may God bless us all. -Kim
